Humblebrag

Humblebrag is here… My new project, started with co-leader and fellow Jukes conspirator, guitarist extraordinaire Glenn Alexander, is an organ quartet drawing on a diverse pool of musical inspiration and sources, but delivering them in a classic, soul jazz infused style. We’re playing a few standards, some classic Ray Charles, Jimmy Smith and Charles Earland, Maceo Parker and a whole bunch of our original material. If it grooves, has a pulse and is funky enough, we’ll play it.

We have one of the baddest cats in NYC on organ, the inimitable Ron Oswanski holds down the hot seat with aplomb, humor and one hell of a left hand bass line. Ron is a regular member of several fantastic NY bands including the Organik Vibe Trio, Carl Fischer’s Nouveau Big Band, and the Maria Schneider Orchestra among many many others.

On drums, we have Adam Jackson, a phenomenal player from Seattle, Washington. “Ajax” has quickly become a staple on the NY scene and is just as likely to be found playing with singer/songwriter acts on the lower east side, hardcore funk and soul bands in midtown, or in a smoke filled straight ahead jazz room in the village.

The dedicated website is coming soon. In the meantime check out my calendar page for dates. You can also find Humblebrag on Facebook and Twitter
