Every year for the past several years, I’ve produced a Christmas song and sent it to my family and friends as a kind of very personal gift to them. This year, I’m doing something a little different and I’m asking for your help, too.
It seems like every time I turn on the news or read a newspaper, there’s more discussion of how people are going hungry. This is just wrong. Period. NOBODY should ever be hungry in this country, as wealthy and technically endowed as we are. Adding to that the recent devastation of hurricane Sandy and there are a whole lot of people who are seriously hurting in New York and New Jersey this holiday season. The photos depicting the overwhelming destruction of homes, businesses and livelihoods in New York and on the Jersey shore are just heartbreaking.
In that light, I am releasing this year’s Christmas song with the hope that you’ll join me in trying to help those in need. ALL money collected from the sale of this single or contributed by donation will be divided equally between City Harvest in New York City, and the Food Bank of New Jersey. It’s amazing how far a few dollars can go to feed someone who’s hungry. Can you help? Will you help?
You can purchase the track directly from me below. Whether you pay $.99 or generously donate a larger amount, you’ll receive a download link for the file after your transaction is complete (you’ll also receive an email with your purchase information and download link included). If you’d rather purchase elsewhere, the song is available now from CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and many other online music retailers.
Extra special thanks to my fellow Jukes, Chris Anderson and Glenn Alexander for contributing their time and considerable talents to this project.
And most especially, thank you for your support. Together we CAN make a difference!
