Ah, the life of the touring musician… Well, the last two months as a member of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes have been a real blast! We just got back from a run out to Montana where we played the first shows the band has performed there in over 30 years! The crowds were GREAT and the band had a hell of a lot of fun! Check out thisreview of our show in Billings.
These past weeks have seen us up and down the east coast, on a quick run out to the midwest playing three fantastic shows to packed houses in Cleveland, Chicago and Detroit, and a number of great gigs right here in our back yard in New York and New Jersey. One of the highlights of March (and of my career) was performing four shows with the legendary Allman Brothers Band at the Beacon Theater in New York City with the Jukes Horns! Life is good. The music is great. I’m so blessed to call it my life and livelihood. Thanks to all of you for your past and continued support! Without you, it’d just be noise made in an empty room.
In addition to upcoming SSJ dates, there are a couple of cool things that I’m excited about and wanted to share! I’ll be joining my longtime friend and oftentime stage
companion, Roz Brown, for two Thursdays at The Darby, that promise to be a whole lotta fun. Anytime Roz is involved, ya know the party’s on!
I’m also VERY psyched to have been asked to join SSJ alum Mark Pender for his show at The Empire Room in NYC! I’ve always loved Mark’s playing and his spirit – he’s just so much damn fun to listen to and watch! The horn section will also include my fellow Juke-ian, Neal Pawley on trombone. Should prove to be a great night of music and fun.
